Rain doesn’t stop the Blessing of the Pets
Pets both big and small braved the rain this past Saturday, July 10 in the park across from Our Lady of the Isle to participate in the annual Blessing of the Pets. The gloomy skies gave a foreboding message that rain, and lots of it, was indeed on the way, but that didn’t stop these pets and their owners from making the trip.

Affection for pets never dies
When Fishkill resident Anne Amburgey read a Pennysaver ad about a beagle named Elmo who had been hit by a car along the Bronx River Parkway, she knew she wanted to meet him. Already partial to beagles, having owned others in the past, Anne and her husband took a ride to the New Rochelle Humane Society shelter where he was available for adoption.
